Collaboration: Luksfera Gallery in Warsaw Adam Sikora is an appreciated Polish cinematographer; a creator of cinematography for TV theatre and other TV programmes (including Ogród sztuk, Rozmowy na nowy wiek), director of short films and documentaries, photographer, painter. His works were presented many times at the festival ERA NEW HORIZONS.He is from Mikołów and he graduated from the Cinematography Department of the National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź (1988).He collaborates regularly with Lech Majewski, he was the cinematographer for Wojaczek, Angelus and Pokój Saren and for films by other directors: Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, Izabela Cywińska, Marcin Krzyształowicz, Jerzy Antczak. Cooperation with Piotr Dumała in making Las, and with Jerzy Skolimowski at Four Nights with Anna (Cztery noce z Anną) inspired Adam Sikora to paint a cycle of texture paintings, reliefs, shown with the title Fucking Close Up with the author's footnotes in the form of drawings. This is a series of neurotic icons and the cycle's patron is Nick Cave.Creation of the pictures was determined by the violent rhythm of his music and the uncompromising character of his early, anarchic compositions. The artist deepens the dark nature of the painted world with the effect of a gradual close-up.He transfers the figure of the film close-up - transfocation into the structure of a picture to go to the essence of the image - the pupil of an eye, borderline, where, according to Sikora, light touches on darkness.
