Piotr Bartos, the 24-year-old artist from Wrocław has been known since his participation in the experimental project by Tomasz Tryzna, author of the Miss Nobody. Taniec w skorupkach by Tryzna is a rare example of photo prose in the Polish market. Bartos, who is the author’s friend, is not only the co-author of photos and visual design of the book, but he also lent his body and elements of his biography to the book’s main character. Piotr Bartos specialises in photography and experimental film. Among his achievements, there is the exposition Tata slajd and the presentation Samotność in Rita Baum magazine, films Pies na śniegu, Rodzina łabędzi, Białoruś, Tancerki, W rowerowym lusterku, a documentary Look Luc and making-off of the L.U.C.’s album Homoxymoronomatura. Piotr Bartos’s installation Seven Seasons, contains autobiographical elements. A figure of changing colours, the author's look-alike will become for the time of the festival a "story hanger". On its stretched arms pendants with tiny screens will be hung. On these screens, at different speeds, fragments of the photographic journal of Bartos will be screened. A journal governing the life of a character, busy with belated maturing and looking to the future with optimism. Soft sounds coming from the figure's head, composed by L.U.C., are the sounds of inner reality, showing intensive adaptation processes. Agnieszka Szeffel |
